Domestic Oblivion

Lowering of Standards

I’m amused by the fact that I have to believe that I have simply lowered my standards to an attainable level, and not just given up. Why is it so important for me to believe that? Because if I’ve just given up, then I’ve been beaten by a group of four people whose collective age is 14 years less than mine.

For years my loving husband chastised me for being an over achiever. He told me I wasn’t superwoman, which was news to me, since I did think that I really could do everything. And now that I’ve embraced the lowering of the standards, he wants to know why I don’t care about things anymore. Hmmm.

For what it is worth I’m hoping you’ll continue your blog. I think you could say some interesting things.
